Spain visa from Egypt (BLS)
Spain processes Egyptian Schengen applications through BLS International (not VFS Global). This guide summarises the official BLS requirements — visa categories, fees, photo specs, document validity and the appeal process — exactly as published.
Visa categories handled by BLS Spain
• Tourist Visit — Holidays, sightseeing and leisure travel to Spain.
• Business Visa — Meetings, conferences or work-related visits hosted by a company.
• Airport Transit Visa — Transiting the international area of a Spanish/Schengen airport to a non-Schengen destination.
• Family / Friends Visit — Visiting family or friends who host you in Spain.
• Medical Visit — Medical treatment or examination at a Spanish institution.
• Property Owners — Applicants who own property in Spain.
• Sports / Cultural / Artistic / Scientific — Participating in a sporting, cultural, artistic or scientific event.
• Student Visa (short-stay) — Short courses or study programmes in Spain (up to 90 days).
Official fees
Visa fees (paid in cash, in clean USD notes only):
• Applicants above 12 years — 106 USD
• Children between 6 and below 12 years — 53 USD
• Children below 6 years — 0 USD
• Nationals of Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Cape Verde, Georgia, Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, Serbia and Ukraine (Visa-facilitation rate) — 104 USD
BLS service fee (cash USD only):

• The visa fees and BLS service fees are accepted in cash, in USD only.
• Any additional services are accepted in cash, in Egyptian Pounds only.
• The rate of the visa fees and BLS service fees may change without notice as per the current exchange rate.
• All fees are non-refundable.
Standard documents (all short-stay types)
✔ Travel insurance certificate — Mandatory. Must cover the whole trip including medical expenses and repatriation, with a minimum cover of €30,000. Submitted at the visa application centre.
✔ Visa application form (English or Spanish) — To be signed and dated at BLS.
✔ One recent photo (3.5 × 4.5) — White background, not more than 6 months old. See photo specifications.
✔ Valid passport — Valid for at least 3 months (90 days) after the end of the trip, with at least 2 blank pages, plus copies of all non-blank pages.
✔ Travel history proof — If you have no Schengen visa on your current passport: an old passport covering the last 7 years (no gaps). If none, a movement certificate indicating previous passports and any travel to Member States.
✔ Non-Egyptian nationals, proof of legal residence in Egypt — Valid for 3 months beyond the intended date of departure from the Member States.
✔ Copy of the National ID, translated — See the ID Translation Form.
✔ Proof of professional status
✔ Bank account statements, last 6 months — Original, with official bank stamp and signature, plus translations.
✔ Proof of transportation (round-trip flight) — Tickets should not be fully paid before the visa is issued.
✔ Proof of accommodation for the whole stay — Prepaid hotel reservation, confirmation of a hotel reservation, confirmation of prepaid accommodation, proof of sufficient financial means, or proof of private accommodation provided by a host.
✔ Itinerary — Required if visiting more than one Member State.
✔ Minors (under 18) travelling with one parent or unaccompanied
Photo specifications
• One recent photo, not more than 6 months old, sized 3.5 × 4.5 cm, zoomed on the face.
• In colour, taken against a white background so features are distinguishable.
• Clear, sharp quality with the face in focus.
• Printed on normal photographic paper (camera print).
• Full face, non-smiling, without glasses/sunglasses, hat/cap or other head covering, unless worn for religious or ethnic reasons.
• Children under 12 not attending the appointment: parents must provide two very recent photographs; if they do not meet the specs, the child must attend for a live photo.
Processing time & when to apply
Processing time: 15 to 45 calendar days (may be extended in some cases).
Application window: No more than 180 days in advance, and at least 15 days before travel.
Maximum 90 days within any 180-day period (short-stay Type C).
Document validity
• HR letter: 3 months
• Enrolment letter: 3 months
• Invitation letter: 3 months
• Admission letter (student visa): 3 months
• Bank statement: 1 month from the end date on the statement
• Health certificate: 3 months
• Criminal record: 3 months
• Embassy legalization: 3 months
If your visa is refused — the appeal
Within 30 calendar days, starting the day after you receive the rejection letter.
The Embassy of Spain may issue its resolution within 60 calendar days, starting the next working day after the appeal is submitted.
Documents required:
✔ The original of the rejection letter.
✔ A cover letter (computerized, in Spanish/English) clarifying all the applicant's data and the trip details.
✔ Any documents you wish to submit to support the application, according to the reasons for rejection.
• The applicant must submit the appeal in person, except minors, whose parents may submit on their behalf.
• The passport is not required to be submitted with the appeal.
