Occupation or employment not sufficiently proven

Your employment letter, business registration, or proof of enrollment was missing, expired, informal, or did not clearly state your position and salary.

Missing or incomplete application form

Your application form (e.g. the Schengen Visa Application Form) was unsigned, incomplete, or contained contradictions that could not be resolved.

Insufficient means of subsistence

Your bank statements did not show enough funds to cover your stay, or the funds shown were not convincing (e.g. sudden large deposits, unverifiable sources).

Purpose and conditions of stay not justified

You did not provide sufficient evidence explaining why you want to travel, where you will stay, or what you will do during the visit.

Host invitation letter / accommodation not verified

Your invitation letter from a host in the Schengen country was rejected (invalid, unnotarized, or the host's residency was not proven), or your hotel/accommodation booking was not confirmed.

Intention to leave before visa expiry not established

The consulate was not convinced you would return to Egypt before or when your visa expires. This is often called a 'lack of ties to home country.'

Travel medical insurance absent, invalid, or insufficient

You did not submit proof of travel/medical insurance, or the policy you submitted did not meet Schengen requirements (minimum €30,000 coverage valid in all Schengen countries for the full trip duration).

90 days already used in current 180-day period

You have already spent 90 days in the Schengen Area in the last 180 days and are not entitled to additional days under the uniform short-stay rules.

SIS alert / entry refused by a member state

One or more Schengen member states has issued a refusal-of-entry alert in the Schengen Information System (SIS) against you.

Threat to public policy, security, or international relations

The consulate considers you a potential threat to public policy, internal security, public health, or the international relations of one or more member states.

Prior visa violations or irregular immigration history

Previous overstays, illegal entry, or irregular immigration records were found in your history, causing the consulate to doubt your compliance with future visa conditions.
