How long does a Spain visa take to process?

You submit the original rejection letter, a computerized cover letter (Spanish/English) with your data and trip details, and any supporting documents addressing the refusal reasons. The applicant must submit in person (parents may do so for minors), and the passport is not required. The Embassy may issue its decision within 60 calendar days.

How recent must my bank statement be for Spain?

Your bank statement is valid for only one month from the end date shown on it — so request it close to your appointment. Most other documents (HR letter, enrolment letter, invitation letter, health certificate, criminal record, embassy legalization) are valid for three months.

Do I apply for Greece in Cairo or Alexandria?

It depends on which office issued your Egyptian passport. Passports issued by offices 18, 19 & 20 (Alexandria), 21 (Marsa Matrouh), 36, 37 (Beheira) must apply in Alexandria. If your Egyptian passport was issued by any other office, you must apply in Cairo. The two centres also differ: lodge no more than 6 months before, and as a rule no later than 15 days before travel (Cairo), while lodge no more than 3 months (90 days) before, and as a rule no later than 15 days before travel (Alexandria). Schengy detects this and shows you the right window and passport-gap rules.

Family and group applications add a discounted EGP 300, EGP 375, or EGP 450 per additional traveller depending on the route. This is a one-time service fee with no subscription.

Yes. Your data is encrypted in transit and at rest using AES-256 — the same standard banks use. Files in your Visa Vault are private by default and only you can access them. Schengy staff cannot decrypt your documents. When you delete an application, its data is purged immediately. We never sell or share your information.

Who can see my passport data?

All your data is permanently and immediately purged from our systems when you delete your account or an individual application. There is no recovery period or archive — deletion is irreversible.

Is my portal password safe?

Yes. The extension runs entirely in your browser. Your portal password and cookies stay in your Chrome profile and are never sent to Schengy's servers. The extension communicates with Schengy only to receive your application data (via encrypted pairing) and to report status updates. It never has access to your portal credentials.

The Portal Companion is offered only on routes marked available in Schengy. Belgium and Luxembourg use the dedicated Visa On Web driver and are certified independently by country, collection centre, visa type, and account mode. Each portal has a different technical structure, so unsupported or changed routes pause safely and disclose any manual checkpoints before you submit.

What happens if a CAPTCHA appears?

The Companion detects CAPTCHA challenges and automatically pauses. It shows a status update in the side panel explaining what happened. You solve the CAPTCHA yourself in the portal tab, then click Resume in the Companion's side panel. The automation picks back up from where it left off. If you opted into the automatic CAPTCHA solver, it will try up to two attempts before pausing for you.

Does the Companion replace the Schengy application package?

No. The Portal Companion is a complement to your Schengy package. First, you create your application package (form, cover letter, checklist) using the Schengy wizard. Then the Companion takes your approved data and fills the actual embassy portal with it. You still need to bring documents in person to VFS.

Can I use the Companion on multiple computers?

Yes, but each computer needs its own Chrome installation with the extension loaded. You can pair each installation with the same Schengy session using a new pairing code. Your application data stays in your Schengy vault, so it's available regardless of which computer you use.

What if the portal changes and the Companion stops working?

Embassy portals occasionally update their forms and layouts. When this happens, the Companion may not recognise the new structure and will pause for you. We certify each portal version individually — when a portal changes, we update the extension and re-certify. You can check for updates by re-downloading the .zip from the website.
